Our main fundraising events in 2011 were the Annual Summer Fete in June, where we were blessed with good weather and raised an amazing £4,629, and our 2nd Christmas Gift Fair in November, which was well attended and raised a £1,054! These events rely on a lot of time and effort being put in, not only by the Hall Committee and their co-erced families, but a number of others as well. The Committee would like to thank all those who turn out to help in the preparation, operation and clearing-up of these events. We couldn’t do it without you!
We would also like to thank Emma Hawthorne and Tom Roper who have been cleaning the hall as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
If you would be interested in joining the Committee, please come along to the AGM which will be held on 17 April at 8pm in the Village Hall. Everyone is welcome.
Our 2012 Summer Fete will be on Saturday 16 June – look out for more details in future issues of the Gazette.

Village Hall News February 2011
...NEWS...NEWS...NEWS...
****Burns Night Bash – 29 January****
A great evening was had by all, with music, poetry and comedy to accompany the haggis, neeps & tatties and luscious desserts. Over £1,300 was raised for the Hall funds! Grateful thanks go to “After Hours” who got our guests bopping, Doug Wood for his touching tribute to the haggis and his guidance in the Scottish Country Dancing, and all other performers, cooks & helpers - a great team effort!
****Where Does the Money Go?****
The successful events over the year have enabled us to support the Church and to boost Hall funds. We are looking at ideas to improve the hall lighting so as to be appropriate for all the different events and activities that take place there. We also want to purchase some more fold-up tables that can be easily stored, moved and set up. These improvements will all help to make the hall a more inviting venue to hire for parties / clubs / meetings.
