Village Hall News February 2011

****Burns Night Bash – 29 January****
A great evening was had by all, with music, poetry and comedy to accompany the haggis, neeps & tatties and luscious desserts. Over £1,300 was raised for the Hall funds! Grateful thanks go to “After Hours” who got our guests bopping, Doug Wood for his touching tribute to the haggis and his guidance in the Scottish Country Dancing, and all other performers, cooks & helpers - a great team effort!

****Where Does the Money Go?****
The successful events over the year have enabled us to support the Church and to boost Hall funds. We are looking at ideas to improve the hall lighting so as to be appropriate for all the different events and activities that take place there. We also want to purchase some more fold-up tables that can be easily stored, moved and set up. These improvements will all help to make the hall a more inviting venue to hire for parties / clubs / meetings.

**** Annual General Meeting – 5 April 2011, 8pm****
We will be electing our trustees for the forthcoming year, so if you’re interested in joining our merry band, come along!

****Bingo Night – 8 April 2011****
Come & have a bit of fun in the hall on Friday 8 April. We will be playing bingo - for prizes, not money! Tickets cost £5 per head, to include a light supper. Please bring your own drinks. Our resident caller, Rob Hawthorne, will commence at 7.30pm. Please let Kay Hawthorne know on 288065 if you’re coming along, so we can cater for the right numbers

****Crowns & Coronets Royal Wedding Celebration – 29 April 2010****
In honour of the occasion, the Committee invites you all to a barbecue at the hall from 4pm, after you have had your fill of the live TV coverage of the wedding. Salads and hot barbecue coals will be provided, but please bring your own meat, fish or veggie burger and drinks. Please wear headdress appropriate to the day, eg, crowns, coronets, tiaras!
